About Arlington Charities
In 1978, members of the Arlington Ministerial Alliance decided that Arlington’s food insecurity issues needed to be addressed. Initially, volunteers collected food and distributed it out of car trunks. However, the demand was overwhelming. As a result, Arlington Charities was organized as a nonprofit in 1979.
Arlington Charities is the oldest social service organization in the city, and the city’s largest provider of supplemental food for people in need.
Arlington Charities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization helping to stabilize families, individuals, and the homeless in Arlington.
